Ivan Toney has refused to rule out a move away from Brentford this January and admits he has ambitions to play for a 'prime club' challenging for major honours.

The 27-year-old ahead is getting ready to make his long-awaited return for Brentford at house to Nottingham Forest this weekend after serving an eight-month ban for gambling offences.

Scoring 21 objectives in 35 appearances for the Bees last time period, Toney has established himself as probably the most sought after strikers in England and has been heavily linked with the Premier League's elite this month, regardless of his time on the sidelines.

It's understood both Arsenal and Chelsea are weighing up big-money moves for the England international, who gave a timely reminder of his quality in front of goal with a hat-trick for Brentford's B team earlier this month.

But simply two days on, during an in-depth interview with Sky Sports activities, Toney couldn't categorically rule out the potential for a move away from the Gtech Group Stadium earlier than the January switch deadline.

'I don't know, you possibly can never predict when is the appropriate time to maneuver elsewhere nevertheless it's obvious that I want to play for a prime club,' he stated.

After an agonising spell of eight months on the sidelines, Toney looks like a 'free man' and is raring to take to the sector again this coming weekend.

'I feel like a free man,' the ex-Peterborough United attacker added.

'An enormous weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I can't wait to get back enjoying and enjoying football this Saturday so it'll be good.

'Things happen in life, you're taking it on the chin and you progress ahead with it.

'I should have been enjoying and helping the group carry out nicely. But there's obviously still good gamers within the group that even have a task to do and step in when needed.

'I do feel type of dangerous but it's what it's, I can't dwell on it too much, I can't change it so what's executed is completed.'

Toney – capped as soon as by Gareth Southgate – is desperate to return to the international fold and is ready to compete with England's best for a starting berth.

On his ambition to be England's first-choice No.9, Toney stated: 'To be the most effective you must compete towards one of the best.

'Harry Kane is likely one of the greatest strikers on the planet, he's been doing it for therefore many years now.

'If I need to be England's No.1 then I've to compete towards him and he's not a nasty striker to be taking ideas from when training with him.

I've just obtained to maintain scoring objectives, enjoying nicely and who knows what is going to happen.

'If I fall simply in need of that then hopefully I can develop into the second greatest on the planet.'
