The Santa Maria, California mom revealed how she realized the cash had disappeared, in response to NBC affiliate KSBY.

"Once I appeared on my cellular app, it confirmed the transactions from the place the perpetrators went and took out my money from a financial institution I didn't even go to," she stated.

Martinez stated she had lost $1,560 in just some hours.

"There were three totally different transactions — one for $800, one for $700, and one for $60," she added.

Martinez stated her Digital Benefits Card had been duplicated and used to take the money.

The fraud victim filed a police report and stated Financial institution of America gave her back all the cash she had lost every week later.

Despite this Martinez explained how the state of affairs impacted herself and her household.

"It put me behind on all my payments, on all my lease. I had late charges," she stated.

"I wasn't capable of get my daughter the footwear she needed for basketball. I had no fuel cash.

"It burdened us lots."

Police stated a card skimming system was retrieved by financial institution employees from an ATM at the Santa Maria ATM, in accordance with KSBY.
