William Gallas insists former clubs Arsenal and Chelsea must be 'thick' to pay £100million for Ivan Toney in the course of the January switch window.

The London clubs are in the market for a striker this month with the Brentford star – who can return to action this weekend after serving his ban – a goal for each.

Chelsea's issues up front are well-documented with Cole Palmer their prime scorer with eight objectives this season forward of summer time signing Nicolas Jackson who has scored seven – three of those coming in the victory over nine-man Tottenham in November.

Arsenal in the meantime are the bottom scorers among the many 5 clubs at the prime of the Premier League with Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus scoring simply eight league objectives between them.

Brentford are adamant Toney will not be sold this month and have placed a £100million asking price on their prized asset.

Former Gunners captain Gallas views that as a ridiculous worth for a 27-year-old who has gained only one cap for his country, doubting either of his former sides with pay that charge this month.

'How much would Arsenal or Chelsea pay for him? Some clubs are thick,' Gallas informed Gambling Zone.

'They don't realise that there's too much money in soccer in order that they'll pay £100m for Toney.

'Meaning the player needs to be a world participant. He has hardly played for England. How are you going to clarify to me that his worth is £100m?

'When you purchase a player for £100m, he needs to be a young player. Spending £100m on a 27-year-old is an excessive amount of.

'Both you spend £100m on a world player or a younger participant that a workforce can spend money on for the long-term.'

'Thomas Frank has been nothing however the largest assist I might have asked for – the whole membership has,' Toney informed Sky Sports activities last week.

'From putting on additional periods for me, from taking their day trip to place a session on and go outdoors when it's raining once they're not imagined to be in. I've so much to repay them and I can't wait to attempt to do this.'
