This latest instalment, Silent Hill: The Brief Message, follows protagonist Anita as she finds her sense of reality shattered by a collection of bizarre and otherworldly areas and a twisted monster.
"We needed to make a brand new, trendy Silent Hill," Okamoto continued.
"As a part of that we explored how we might incorporate modern problems.
"We ended up taking a look at how trendy youth communicate online and through phones, and the position that would play in a psychological horror story.
"For example, a daunting thing about social media is how even insignificant individual comments can, en masse, build and construct till they turn out to be this overwhelming wave of hate crashing down on you."
Players have already rushed to obtain the new title and say it lasts round an hour and a half.
"That really got here out of nowhere, simply completed it…hits right into the feels…" one consumer wrote.
"Welp, seems like we getting spooked tonight boiz," another wrote.
"WOW didn't anticipate this!!!" a third commented.
Others have been quick to reference the P.T. fiasco, saying: "This time, DO NOT erase this out of your arduous drives!"
