The 40th Independent Spirit Awards solidified Jesse Eisenberg's awards-season campaign with his win for best screenplay. The 41-year-old actor, writer and director was honored for his dramedy A Real Pain, which he stars in with Kieran Culkin. Baby Reindeer also snatched up multiple awards, including best breakthrough performance in a new scripted series award for Jessica Gunning.
