BeefcreatorLee Sung Jinoriginally pitched the series as an anthology, an idea he revealed toVarietyin May 2024.
"I always thought a show calledBeef— where every season there are new characters there’s a new 'beef' — would be fun," he explained.
Lee continued, "When you’re filming, there’s no season 2 guaranteed. That’s why the story was so close-ended, because if there is no season 2, this works as a limited series."

Will there be aBeefseason 3?
Beefseason 2 premiered on April 16, but there hasn't been official confirmation of a third installment.
If the series does return for another set of episodes, it will most likely star a new cast since both of the first two seasons consisted of different ensembles and characters.

WhetherBeefseason 3 happens or not, Lee is staying busy. He is working on a script for the upcomingX-Menreboot, according toVariety.
"I’m a big, big fan of the comics and I’m just very honored to have a small part in it," he told the outlet in April 2026.
What has the creator ofBeefsaid about season 3?
While a third season ofBeefhasn't been announced, Lee has already thought about future seasons.
"I wanted it to have a conclusive feel just in case, but there are a lot of ideas on my end to keep this story going," he toldRolling Stonein April 2023, when asked about the ending of season 1.
"I have one really big general idea that I can’t really say yet, but I have three seasons mapped out in my head currently," Lee added.
At the season 2 premiere ofBeefin April 2026, the creator said inan interviewthat he was "perfectly happy with this being the last season."
"But if the universe shoves something else in my face that I have to respond to, I'm always trying to remain open," he noted.
