Lyle and Erik Menendez filed a motion to disqualify Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman from participating in their resentencing hearing, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. Lyle, 57, and Erik, 54, have served 35 years in prison for the 1989 murders of their parents, Kitty and Jose Menendez. After a 1993 mistrial, they were convicted in 1996 and sentenced to life in prison without parole. Since then, they've fought for decades to be released from prison, claiming self-defense because they feared for their lives after suffering through years of physical and sexual abuse.

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump paid their respects to the late Pope Francis at his funeral at Vatican City on Saturday, April 26. The couple joined other world leaders as well as monarchs, heads of state and thousands of mourners at the square outside St. Peter's Basilica. Melania, who traveled on her 55th birthday, wore all-black along with a traditional veil. Before the Mass, the Trumps stopped to see Francis' coffin.
