Ali Carter is at a loss for a way his feud with Ronnie O'Sullivan began, saying the pair was on good phrases, however he needs to maneuver on from their headline-grabbing beef.

The pair don't have a very good relationship and tensions boiled over on Sunday after O'Sullivan beat Carter 10-7 at Alexandra Palace to win an eighth Masters title.

Carter accused O'Sullivan of 'snotting everywhere in the flooring' through the match, which he described as 'outrageous behaviour' from the world primary.

The Rocket did not take kindly to the accusation and told a press conference: 'He must type his f***ing life out. I'm not going to skirt around it anymore, tip-toeing on egg shells around someone like that. He's a f***ing nightmare.

'Enjoying snooker towards somebody like that may be a nightmare. He's not a pleasant individual. It's not a pleasant vibe he leaves around the table.

'I've stated my piece, I don't give a s**t. I've stated it now, executed. You understand what he's like, everyone knows what he's like.

'He's received issues. F***ing why has he obtained issues with me? I'm not having it. I don't care, develop some balls. I don't give a f*** about any of those snooker players, any of them.

'The more he brings it on, the more I f***ing punish him every time. He's simply digging a grave for himself. I don't give a f***. That's it, I've stated my piece.'

Both men are playing at the World Grand Prix in Leicester this week and Carter was asked about the Rocket's comments, telling ITV: 'I truly really feel a bit sorry for him. I don't assume he's that nicely, mentally. So we transfer forward and we go once more this week.'

He was requested if he might keep in mind how his feud with O'Sullivan started and informed the Day by day Star: 'No, I'm afraid not.

'I simply need to move on. He can rant off if he needs, that's high-quality. I'll take it on the chin and keep on. That's the smart thing to do as knowledgeable sportsman.

'We have been fairly friendly once we have been younger, I don't really know what occurred.

'I discovered rather a lot off him. Who wouldn't study quite a bit off him? He's the best player of all time, little question about that.'

O'Sullivan had recommended that their issues go a great distance again, saying that he has not spoken to Carter for 20 years.

'He's received beef with me. He's acquired issues, he's acquired to type his life out, he's acquired to see a counsellor or something. He's acquired to type it out as a result of I haven't spoken to him for 20 years,' stated O'Sullivan.

'I performed with him when he was a child and shared plenty of stuff with him.

'For him to return out and try to trash speak me like that, have you learnt what? He can have one among them (middle finger), he can sit on it so far as I'm concerned.'

The 2 gamers used to apply together years ago, with former Masters champion Alan McManus suggesting that O'Sullivan feels wronged by Carter after taking him underneath his wing as a teenager.
