All Signs Point to the 'Mob-Wife' Bob Being Spring's Top Hair Trend | PA3I1S9 | 2024-01-28 22:08:01

In all places I look, the "mob spouse" aesthetic is taking off. We've seen the likes of Hailey Bieber and Dua Lipa step out in heavy faux-fur coats and TikTok has declared the "clean girl" and her slicked-back bun out, while ushering in the ultra-glam, Hollywood-imagined concept of a mob spouse, full together with her leopard-print clothes, ostentatious bling and bold make-up. These days, we're seeing a brand new "aesthetic" come up virtually every week because the cyclical nature of tendencies continues to speed up, and now, the internet has given its latest nod to the women whose daring appears (and mysterious lives) and we have seen depicted and romanticised in TV and film, from The Sopranos to Scarface and Mob Wives.

In fact, simply because the web jumps on but another development, it doesn't suggest we're all getting concerned (personally, my black-and-beige-filled wardrobe just isn't prepared). However with all this speak of fabulous, fictional mob wives, I am reminded of certainly one of my all-time favourite film haircuts: Michelle Pfeiffer's flicked bob as Elvira Hancock in Scarface. And it is a timeless bob haircut that I reckon we will be seeing a lot more of in 2024 as the obsession continues.
