Two rail networks have been pressured to cancel all of their trains this morning because of a 'main signalling fault'.

In a serious blow to commuters, all trains on the Southern and Thameslink networks, overlaying south and east London, have been cancelled and won't be operating 'until further notice'.

Both providers have issued 'do not journey' warnings.

Plus, anybody hoping to catch the practice to Gatwick Airport this morning may be left disillusioned as there shall be no Gatwick Categorical providers operating at all.

It comes because the south of England faces heavy rain, excessive winds and the potential for flooding with a yellow weather warning in place until 9am on Monday.

And to prime it all off, Nationwide Rail says a landslip between London Paddington and Studying can also be causing severe disruption to providers.

Two out of 4 strains between Twyford and Studying have been pressured to shut after an 'unstable area of earth' was discovered.

Southern warned that providers which do run are expected to be extraordinarily busy.

The networks are also coping with factors failures within the Haywards Heath and Hove areas of Sussex, which means providers between Cambridge and Brighton, and Brighton and Three Bridges and Chichester, gained't run.

There are severe delays between Littlehampton and Southwick, between Brighton and Three Bridges, between Swanley and Rochester, bewteen Deptford and Westcombe Park, and between Welwyn Garden Metropolis and Hitchin.

Providers between Littlehampton and London Victoria gained't run, with passengers having to journey by way of Horsham as an alternative.

The extreme delays between Southampton Central and Fareham, between London St Pancras and Finsbury Park, between Horley and Purley, between Riddlesdown and Hurst Inexperienced, and between New Southgate and Potters Bar have improved to minor delays.
