A RISE in gasoline obligation can be catastrophic for drivers, dozens of senior Tories have warned the Chancellor.

Eight former Cabinet ministers including Suella Braverman and Priti Patel are among the signatories praising The Sun's Hold It Down marketing campaign.

A 126,000-strong petition will probably be delivered to Downing Road immediately by FairFuel's boss Howard Cox.

Treasury sources say Mr Hunt has around £13billion in the public finances which he will dip into for tax cuts.

Preserving gasoline obligation frozen and increasing the 5p minimize — as a consequence of expire on March 23 — is predicted to value £5billion.
