A BODY was pulled from the River Clyde in Glasgow today as emergency crews descended on the scene.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were scrambled to the Broomielaw in Glasgow after the alarm was raised this morning.

Crews were alerted to the tragic sighting around 9.35am near the King George V Bridge.

Cops sealed off the scene near the river as a helicopter circled overhead.

A fire and rescue boat was also deployed to the river.

Officers confirmed a body was later pulled from the river.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.45am on Saturday, 27 April, 2024, we received a report of a body in the water near the George V Bridge in Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended and around 4.05pm the body of a man was recovered.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
