A FAMILY faced a major unexpected inconvenience while traveling when they reserved a rental car in advance but they never received it.
Jonathan Gardner and his wife Taylor Lamb were taking a trip with their kids to Texas and everything was going smoothly until they were unable to get a vehicle they reserved to leave the airport.
While still at the airport with their children, the couple spent countless hours on the phone with the booking agency[/caption]Taylor explained that she "booked everything in advance to make it easy," but, unfortunately, that reservation didn't help them out as she expected, local news outlet WFMY-TV reported.
The North Carolina family boarded their plane and, when they arrived in Dallas a few hours later, they went to the rental car counter to pick up their car assuming it'd be a breeze.
"They didn't have our reservation," Lamb said.
"They didn't have anything."
While still at the airport with their children, the couple spent countless hours on the phone with the booking agency trying to get a different rental car for their trip.
The rental company they dealt with even told them they'd have to pay for a new rental.
The couple was urged to sort out any refund they may deserve later on.
"You had a line through the whole airport," Lamb said.
Despite it being around the holidays at the time, the rental company told the parents they'd have to bring the car, that they had booked while at the airport, back after 3 days and rebook it.
The return date was Thanksgiving but the business said it made the couple do this because their credit card was maxed out.

It took about half of their day to be able to rebook a car for the rest of the trip.
"I think I explained my story about 15 times to 15 different people," Lamb expressed.
After speaking with a lot of representatives, the travel booking company told Lamb it would refund the money she paid for the rental car she initially reserved.
Weeks had gone by and the refund never came.

When she got help from WFMY-TV, which sent the business proof of her payment, the company reached out to the driver.
Lamb got both a call from the company and a refund check which arrived just a short time later.
"It came just like that, within a few days I got the money," Lamb shared.
