SHOCKING court testimony has revealed a chilling conversation convicted killer Lori Vallow Daybell had with her mother-in-law about her daughter's death months before being arrested.
She was convicted last year of the murders of her two children, Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow, while her doomsday author husband, Chad Daybell, is currently on trial for his alleged role in their deaths and that of his previous wife, Tammy.
Chad Daybell's mother discussed details of the first time she met Lori Vallow[/caption]Sheila Daybell said she was surprised to meet Lori Vallow about a month after her former daughter-in-law, Tammy, had died – but what was more shocking were the rings on her finger.
"We noticed that these rings on and my husband said, 'are you engaged?' and they said 'no, we're married,'" Sheila said in an Idaho courtroom on Thursday, May 2, 2024.
She added that her son, Chad Daybell, didn't tell the family he was getting married again.
During her meeting with Vallow, Sheila said the mother mentioned that her previous husband died from a heart attack and that she had a daughter, Tylee, who also died.
Vallow – who has been sentenced to life in prison – never mentioned her son JJ, who disappeared along with his sister in September 2019 before being found in shallow graves on Chad Daybell's property, said Sheila.
While being cross-examined by Chad's defense attorney, John Prior, Sheila was asked about her son's personality.
Sheila said her son kept to himself and wasn't a "worldly" man before marrying Tammy.
However, she described Lori as being "friendly and upbeat" when they first met.
Prior asked if Lori could be "persuasive," "charming," and "convincing," which Sheila agreed.
The defense has argued that Lori manipulated Chad into killing her children and his first wife.

CHANGED BEHAVIOR
After Sheila gave her testimony, Chad's sister-in-law, Heather Daybell, took the stand.
Heather, who is married to Chad's brother, Matt, said she saw a shift in her brother-in-law's behavior nearly a decade ago.
Starting around 2015, Chad supposedly began talking about visions he had about the "end of days" coming to Utah, said Heather.
He often spoke about an earthquake that would cause massive destruction.
At the time, Heather was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had concerns with Chad's views.
"Because in the belief system I had at that time in the LDS church, some average person doesn't get information like that to share with others," Heather said when asked why she was worried.
"We have a prophet who would let us know if we needed to prepare for something like that."
Whenever Heather tried to confront Chad on his beliefs, she said he wouldn't respond with anything more than a nod.
Heather and Matt live in Rexburg, Idaho, and Chad spoke about moving closer to them but Heather tried to get her husband to stop him.

She told the jury that she had a conversation with Chad, telling him they wouldn't appreciate him living near them so he wouldn't want to be part of their neighborhood or churchward.
Chad would end up moving about a half-mile from Heather's home, she said.
When she learned of Tammy Daybell's death in October 2019, Heather testified that Chad wanted to have her funeral within two days.
At the time, Heather and Matt were out of state and asked Chad if he could push the services back.
However, Heather said Chad refused their wishes and wanted to "just get it done."
When she asked Chad how Tammy died, Heather testified that his responses "felt scripted" and during the funeral, which she and Matt attended, Chad appeared to turn his grief on and off when he wanted.
RUSH OF EMOTION
Colby Ryan, 28, the only surviving son of Lori Vallow, shared that he and his wife are having their third child.
His mother has already been convicted of murdering Tylee and JJ but Chad Daybell's trial is still ongoing and is expected to last another three to five weeks.
In the meantime, Colby, an insurance broker, revealed his happy news on YouTube.
He shared a video that showed the moment he and his wife, Kelsee, found out they were having a baby boy.
Colby said he planned on doing a different video but chose to capture the raw emotion from the moment.
The couple immediately began to cry after receiving the news.
"I always wanted a boy. I always loved our girls, I'm totally a girl dad, but now I get this opportunity, that almost feels like a new opportunity to be a dad," he said.
"I feel more blessed than I could ever tell you guys."
