NEW York Yankees players were left astonished by Giancarlo Stanton's torpedo of a home run on Wednesday night.
The 6-foot-6, 245-pound Stanton contributed to the Yankees' 9-4 home win over the Houston Astros.
With the Yankees up 4-1 in the third inning, Houston's starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti had a 1-2 count on the No. 5 hitter Stanton.
The right-hander threw a misplaced 79 mph curveball right over the plate, and the designated hitter Stanton didn't miss it, sending the pitch at 119.9 mph to left for a homer.
The shot was the hardest-hit ball of the 2024 MLB season.
"It's impressive," New York superstar Aaron Judge told reporters after the game about Stanton's hard-hitting abilities, per the NY Post.
Judge was also referring to Stanton's recent surge.
Stanton hit a 118.8 mph rocket of a home run off of Astros' Justin Verlander in Tuesday's Yankees victory.
That's currently the third-hardest ball hit this season.
"With [Stanton], how hard he hits the ball is amazing," Soto said on Wednesday night.
"You don't see guys hitting the ball 120 [mph] every night."
Yankees manager Aaron Boone called Stanton "a unicorn" when speaking about his Tuesday homer.

Stanton, Soto, and Judge each hit a four-bagger on Wednesday night.
When asked which one was the most impressive, Boone responded, "If you hit one 120, you win."
Stanton has hit three of his eight homers off of the Astros this season.
The 34-year-old has improved in 2024 after hitting just .191 with a .695 OPS.

This season, Stanton has a .228 average and a .758 OPS.
"He's staying through the baseball well and using the whole field," Judge said about Stanton.
"That's when you know he's locked in.
"It's been fun to watch him do his thing this year, especially trying to bounce back from last year."
The Yankees have had a stellar start to the season as they have a 25-13 record.
They are tied for first in the AL East with the Baltimore Orioles (24-12).
