PASSENGERS on board a packed easyJet flight chanted "cheerio cheerio" as a couple who sparked a mid-air rammy were hauled off by cops.
The duo forced the aircraft, which left Glasgow on Monday evening, to make an emergency landing in Greece after they kicked off.
Shocked passengers told how the pair were arguing with other passengers on the Egypt-bound flight before they turned their vile behaviour towards cabin crew.
Staff tried to get the pair to sit down by making announcements over the tannoy but were eventually forced to step in.
One passenger said the pair started threatening air crew before the pilots were forced to make an emergency landing.
Passenger Michael McLennan told the Daily Record: "It was awful.
"They were arguing with other passengers for half an hour before the crew stepped in.
"They were being verbally abusive and threatening to the cabin crew.
"They eventually announced we were doing an emergency landing in Greece.
The woman was told to sit down seven times over the tannoy as we landed but she kept getting up."
The plane diverted to Nikos Kazantzakis International Airport in Heraklion on the Greek island of Crete.
Greek cops then boarded the plane and hauled the loutish duo off before the plane made its way to Hurghada.
<!-- End of Brightcove Player --> As officers took them off the aircraft, their fellow passengers celebrated their removal as they erupted into cheers and chants of "cheerio, cheerio" and "na na na na, goodbye".
An easyJet spokesperson slammed the couple's out of order behaviour.
They said: "easyJet can confirm that flight EZY3165 from Glasgow to Hurghada on April 29 diverted to Heraklion where the aircraft was met by police due to two passengers behaving disruptively onboard.
"The flight then continued to Hurghada once the passengers were removed.
"easyJet's cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.
"Whilst such incidents are rare we take them very seriously and do not tolerate disruptive behaviour onboard.
"The safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew is always easyJet's highest priority."
Greece's Hellenic Police has been approached for comment.
