Piers Morgan has described 'real Martha' from Baby Reindeer, Fiona Harvey, as 'intelligent, combative, coherent, and quick-thinking' after interviewing her yesterday.

Last night the former Good Morning Britain presenter, 59, interviewed Harvey, who is thought to be the inspiration for character Martha on Netflix's TV series Baby Reindeer, in a YouTube video that Morgan claims has been watched 10,000,000 times.

Comedian Richard Gadd's series tells the 'real life' story of his experiences with a stalker called Martha (played by Jessica Gunning), who sends him 41,000 emails – many of which contain lurid details – follows him to comedy gigs, physically and sexually assaults him, and threatens his family.

'I don't really believe a lot of what either [Gadd and Harvey] are saying,' Morgan reflected over their interview on tonight's episode of Uncensored, but said she had 'every right' to tell her side of the story.

He also described Harvey as 'intelligent, combative, coherent, and quick thinking' and said 'she conducted herself formidably well' in the interview.

The 58-year-old Scottish lawyer was grilled by Morgan about being the supposed inspiration for Martha's character after her identity was discovered by online sleuths who had watched the series.

Despite writer and actor Gadd – who plays himself in the series – pleading with online detectives to leave the 'real Martha' alone, they found her X account and cross-referenced some of Harvey's tweets with messages that popped up in the series from Martha.

Harvey denied most of Gadd's depictions as being a true reflection of her or her past actions and is said to be considering legal action over her portrayal in the series – which Gadd says is a true story.

Chatting to Morgan on June 10, Harvey – who says she's been receiving death threats – said she thinks Gadd is 'obsessed' with her and she denies ever even having watched the show.

Harvey said she only knew Gadd for a few months and called Baby Reindeer 'sick' and 'misogynistic'.

'It's been horrendous,' she said. 'It's a work of fiction, hyperbole, and there are two true facts in that that he's Richard Gadd and was a jobbing barman.'

Recalling when she met him – which she said was 10 to 12 years ago – Harvey claimed: 'He didn't offer me a cup of tea. I was in for a meal with a drink of Lemonade. I'm diabetic so I was very hungry.'

She said Gadd 'commandeered' the conversation she was having with another barman, adding: 'He seemed to be obsessed with me from that moment onward.'

Harvey did admit she had a reindeer toy, but 'categorically' denied he ever turned up outside her house as depicted in the show.

When asked about the 41,000 emails, she said: 'That's simply not true. Absolutely not. None of that is true. I don't think I sent him anything. There may have been a couple of emails.'

She did admit to having tweeted Gadd around 18 times, and didn't understand Piers' question about Martha in Baby Reindeer signing off 'sent from my iPhone' – seemingly pretending to own one.

However, Harvey did say she had six email addresses and multiple phones.

Harvey, who claims to have a photographic memory, also denied having sexually assaulted Gadd, assaulting his girlfriend, or launching at him across a bar – something Martha did in the show.

When asked if she was ever in love with Gadd, Harvey said no. She also claimed Gadd asked her to sleep with him with a 'big green spot on his face' and asked her if she'd like her 'curtains fixed'.

Harvey then claimed she 'brushed him off'.

Morgan asked Harvey what her message was to Gadd, to which she replied it was: 'Leave me alone please, get a life, get a proper job. I am horrified at what you've done.'
