The countdown is on for the biggest awards night in the women's football calendar.
The Women's Football Awards will be held on 30 May, with stars including Mary Earps, Sam Kerr and Lauren James shortlisted for awards.
Jamie Carragher and Eni Aluko return to host the flagship event, which sees some of the biggest names in women's football recognised for outstanding achievements after a monumental year for women's football.
Global online fashion, beauty and lifestyle retailer SHEIN has today been announced as the 2024 headline partner, after supporting the inaugural ceremony in 2023.
Metro will be media partner for the awards for the second year, with former Lioness Eni Aluko and football legend and Sky Sports presenter Jamie Carragher as hosts for the ceremony.
'The renewed partnership with the Women's Football Awards underlines our commitment to celebrating the achievements of women and girls in the UK and beyond,' said Cui He, Head of Europe at SHEIN.
'This ceremony will be a true celebration of inspiring people and organisations and highlights the amazing contributions of those in the fastest-growing sport in the world. The Women's Football Awards is a truly unique event and we are incredibly excited to have continued our partnership for 2024.'
The Women's Football Awards brings together the biggest personalities from the women's game for a major celebration of the sport and all of those contributing to its success. The ceremony recognises grassroots greatness as well as national and international superstars.
Award categories include Player of the Year, International Football Player of the Year, Club of the Year, Grassroots Initiative of the Year, Lifetime Achievement as well as a series of accolades for people and brands working behind the scenes to expand the reach of women's football. The public were invited to vote on a shortlist, in full at the bottom of this article, ahead of the May 30 ceremony.
Arsenal star Alessia Russo, winner of the 2023 Player of the Year Award, shared herhope for who would scoop the same prize this year.
'I would say Bunny Shaw', she told Metro. 'I think she's had an amazing season, she's been on super high form. If I was giving out the award, I'd give it to her.'
Eni Aluko, who made 102 appearances for the England national team and is now a leading women's football broadcaster, will also return to co-host the ceremony.
She said: 'It is fantastic to have SHEIN returning as the headline partner for the 2024 Women's Football Awards and further demonstrating their support for the remarkable successes of women and girls in football.
'The support of SHEIN helps make the Women's Football Awards a phenomenal event and we're delighted to have them back.'
Meanwhile, SHEIN will be dressing football stars and grassroots female footballers for the high-profile event, including awards host Eni Aluko.
SHEIN is also partnering with Women In Football to provide support for grassroots women's football teams in the UK as part of the partnership with the 2024 Women's Football Awards.
Guests at the 2023 ceremony included Alessa Russo, Missy Bo Kearns and Lauren James. Premier League stars Harry Kane and Declan Rice were also involved in the celebrations.
Former England captain Carol Thomas was awarded a special recognition award from the Daily Mail and Metro, while broadcaster Karen Carney MBE won the Lifetime Achievement Award.
