Troy Deeney insists any Tottenham fan hoping they lose against Manchester City next, thereby denting Arsenal's title hopes, is 'f****** weird'.

Should the top two emerge victorious from their weekend fixtures, Tuesday's meeting between Pep Guardiola's side and Spurs could prove pivotal in the destination of the Premier League trophy.

Any City slip-up would potentially leave Arsenal just needing to beat Everton at home on the final day to claim the major silverware their own fanbase crave.

With Spurs looking like outsiders for a top four place, some fans would be more than happy to see City sweep to the convincing win that would all but confirm them as champions for the fourth season in a row.

'I know a few Tottenham fans who have told me they would love to see Ange Postecoglou put the kids out to face Manchester City on Tuesday night, so Arsenal can't win the league,' Deeney wrote in The Sun.

'We want to see the likes of City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and, hopefully, Spurs all pushing and competing until the final ebbs of the season.
