Will.i.am has claimed he beat Simon Cowl in the chase for the UK's next biggest boyband as he took a swipe at the producer during an early screening of The Voice. Earlier this year, Simon Cowell revealed he was on the hunt for the next One Direction and scoured the country for a new boy band. The music mogul, 64, put together One Direction's Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik on The X Factor in 2010, who went on to take the pop world by storm.
