In the latest development in a cultural appropriation scandal surrounding a bubble tea company that was pitched on the Canadian reality series Dragons' Den, the Quebec-based manufacturer has issued an apology. In addition, a pair of key figures in the story have issued statements requesting the public refrain from harassing the businesspeople amid the outrage. The controversy kicked off earlier this month after Marvel actor Simu Liu, 35, questioned the values Bobba drink creators Sebastien Fiset and Jessica Frenette had in mind with the bubble tea beverage they had pitched to investors on the show - saying that it presented 'an issue of cultural appropriation.
