Robin Wright defended her iconic Forrest Gump character - Jenny Curran - against online criticism that she's really the 'anti-feminist' villain of Robert Zemeckis' 1994 blockbuster. In the big-screen adaptation of Winston Groom's 1986 novel, Jenny is a sexually-abused child who bonds with disabled boy Forrest, who has a 75 IQ. Forrest loves Jenny and keeps in touch with her as she becomes a nude folk singer, drug-experimenting hippy activist, and coke-snorting disco doll.
