The result meant Bayer Leverkusen progressed to the Europa League final, winning 4-2 on aggregate.

The German side were 2-0 down before Gianluca Mancini's 82nd minute own goal and Josip Stanisic's strike in the 97TH MINUTE meant they remain undefeated in all competitions this season.

Leverkusen's last competitive defeat came on 27 May 2023 – 348 days ago.

The German giants have already clinched the Bundesliga title and are now aiming for a historic treble.

They have just four games remaining, against Bochum and Augsburg in the Bundesliga, Atalanta in the Europa League final and FC Kaiserslautern in the DFB-Pokal final.

Speaking after last week's first leg, Leverkusen midfielder Amine Adli admitted he and his team-mates would be happy as long as they reached the final.

He said: "If we have to lose some games, such as the second leg 1-0, we will not say no if it takes us to the final.

"Our mentality is to win every game and we will try to do this. Nothing is done and we've seen a lot of comebacks in football in the last year.
