She didn't waste her opportunity and quickly got to correct Stephen A. about the pronunciation of her name.

Stephen A. kicked off the show by introducing everyone in the cast, and pronounced her name as Shiney instead of Chiney.

Molly Qerim was the first to notice the error, and pointed it out to Chiney.

"I just want to say one thing that drives me insane," Qerim said.

"Why does everyone say Shiney? It's Chiney!"

Chiney then dove into an explanation about her name, treating First Take viewers to a pronunciation of her full name.

"My real name is Chinenye Joy Nenna Ogwumike," she said.

"I try to make it easy for people and I try to shorten it to Chiney."

Chiney has a sister named Nnemkadi Chinwe Victoria Ogwumike, and explained how to differentiate their names.

"I have a sister, this is the easiest way to remember it," Chiney said.

<!-- End of Brightcove Player -->

"I'll do this, this is the only time I'm gonna do it. Chiney (while pointing to her chin) and my older sister Nneka (while pointing to her neck).

"Y'all got it?"

During the entire explanation, Stephen A's brow was curled as he tried to understand the explanation.

On every one of Chiney's First Take appearances, he has incorrectly pronounced her name and made sure he got it perfectly this time.

"So it's not sh, it's ch?" Stephen A. asked.

Stephen A. then went on to say Chiney's name over and over again to make sure it was cemented in his head.

First Take fans got a kick out of Chiney correcting Stephen A., and shared how much they loved hearing her full name.

"@chiney saying her full name on First Take gave me life. Beautiful name," one fan said.

"Whatever her name is @chiney is BEAUTIFUL! @FirstTake," another fan said.
