A WOMAN and a man have been killed in a multi-car smash which noticed seven other individuals injured.
The horror on a quiet road in South Yorkshire took the lives of the 85-year-old female and 75-year-old male, cops have confirmed.
Emergency providers raced to a crossroads junction in Barugh Green, Barnsley, round 2pm on Saturday.
A white Suzuki and a gray Vary Rover collided before multiple other automobiles turned involved in the smash, say officers.
The two pensioners have been sadly pronounced lifeless on the scene.
Their families at the moment are being supported by specialist officers.
Seven extra individuals have been rushed to hospital with critical injuries – however not considered life-threatening.
A 65-year-old man was arrested however has since been bailed.
South Yorkshire Police is now interesting for witnesses following the tragedy.
