A 12-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged with attempted homicide after a teenage woman was allegedly stabbed in Kent.

Police are appealing for witnesses after being referred to as to a report of assault in Sittingbourne on Friday at round three.55pm.

The woman was taken to a London hospital to receive remedy for her accidents, which police described as being in keeping with a stab wound.

A schoolboy has since been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

The 12-year-old, who can't be named for legal reasons, will seem at Medway Magistrates' Courtroom on Monday.

Kent Police stated the woman remains in hospital in a secure condition.

He was earlier arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily hurt.

Officers are urging anybody with info, CCTV or footage of the incident to contact the police.

South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended the scene.

A spokesman for Kent Police stated: "A 12-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon by officers investigating an assault of a teenage woman in Sittingbourne.

"On Friday officers have been referred to as to Adelaide Drive at 3.55pm following studies a 15-year-old woman had suffered injuries according to a knife wound.

"The boy is because of appear at Medway Magistrates' Courtroom tomorrow.

The spokesman added: "Witnesses are wanted a youngster was significantly assaulted in Sittingbourne.

"We have been referred to as at round three.55pm on Friday following a report of an assault on Adelaide Drive, Sittingbourne.

"Officers attended the scene alongwith with crews from South East Coast Ambulance Service and a teenage woman was taken to a London hospital with injuries in keeping with a stab wound. She remains in hospital in a secure condition.

"The investigation is ongoing and officers are urging anyone with details about the incident, together with those with CCTV or dash-cam footage, to return ahead."

Locals have described "evil" gangs of 30 to 40 youths operating riot in Sittingbourne, with locals pressured out of jobs and houses because of the crime.
